Mud, pizza, and the Millenium Falcon - six places I found joy in the chaos this week

We were cooped up inside a bit this week because of rain but we still tried to sneak outside when the weather cleared. I got to go out with friends on Thursday night for dinner and dessert and we all went out as a family on Saturday for an end of summer lunch. We've got this one full week left and then a couple days the following week before school starts. I'm ready and I'm not. I'm ready, and then I'm not. We'll see how I do when it actually begins!

Our first full week back home! We are settling into our new summer routine and it's working really well. I can tell the kids needed that structure back because the little guys have been taking 2-3 hour naps and sleeping in in the morning and even Mercedes - Miss "I don't need to nap" - took a couple. My Week's Joy - 8/29-9/4

Inspired by one of my favorite blogs I thought it would be a great idea to look back each week at those things that brought me the most joy. This is far too fitting for my blog to ignore the idea so I look forward to posting these each week!

What a refreshing change last week brought! We had my birthday plus a teacher info meeting for each big boy on different nights. While it was a lot on the calendar in one week it also meant Micah got to come home early for three of the four nights of work. After weeks of only seeing him for about an hour each day in the morning this was so wonderful! The kids smothered him with hugs and cuddles and we got to finally slow down and spend some time as a family.
