Every week I like to take a moment to showcase the moments that brought me the most joy. Sometimes they are awesome activities and other times it's a sweet moment between the kids. There are always moments that can fill us with joy if we choose to see them with a thankful heart.
It was a great week! Spring is starting to show it's beautiful face. Well, actually, it's not so beautiful right now. Right now it's muddy and gritty and very sloppy. But out of the dirty gross leftovers from winter comes beauty with spring and I can't wait!
I spent the week making lots of plans for upcoming posts. I couldn't believe how many ideas were pouring out of my head. Most are still in draft form but I've been writing here and there when I get the chance. I'm also going back and editing old posts with new graphics and links. So much background work but if it makes the site work better for you then it's totally worth it! Plus it's actually fun to tinker so I'm enjoying myself.
I'm thinking I want to start going live a bit more on Instagram and Facebook so I'd love to hear any ideas or suggestions you have for topics to share about. Instagram is great for behind the scene quick chats or FAQs where as Facebook is better for tutorials or longer chats. I'm ready to be out with you all more frequently :)
But since the whole point of this post is what I loved last week, I should probably get to that part of the post!
1. Cuddling Brothers
The relationships between the kids have been blossoming lately. We are hearing more instances of "I love you" and "come play with me" than "get away" or "leave me alone" which is awesome! And then there are these moments when you look over at the couch and two of them are cuddled together. Of course as soon as you grab the camera they must react and break up the cuteness factor but I simply adore seeing the friendships grow between our kids. So incredible!!
2. Smiling Dishes
Do you see it? Do you see the smiley face made out of water on the plate? I walked up to the sink to start on the overflowing pile and the plate was smiling back at me. So simple but it helped remind me to be a little more thankful and a little less grumpy about the overflowing sink.
3. Sneak Peak of Spring
We hit nearly 40 by the end of last week! We got to walk up to school! Ah, I love these first glimpses of spring. I think there is snow in the forecast for this week but soon we will be walking every day, spending time outside, and opening up windows for fresh air. I can't wait!
4. Big Saver, Big Purchase
This boy amazes me. He is usually rather impulsive but he set his sights on this LEGO Ninjago set over a year ago and has been saving every bit of allowance, birthday money, and Christmas money to reach the goal. This set is $160! There were times when he wanted to buy a different item at the store but we reminded him that it would set him back in his goal for Destiny's Bounty and he would take the time to weigh the decision. We were incredibly impressed by his determination. He already has a new goal in mind since we showed him the upcoming Jurassic World sets due out later this year.
5. Blog Coaching
I decided to join a 4-Week Blog Coaching Program hosted by Crystal Paine of Money Saving Mom and Your Blogging Mentor. Making this blog a full time gig is my dream, you guys. I love writing and sharing - and learning right along with you! I know as the years go by that I'm going to be figuring out new ways to manage the chaos of teens and middle school and oh so much more!
Anyway, last week we worked on affiliate marketing and we each shared a post with the understanding that Crystal would pull out several to critique. She only chose ten out of probably over one hundred posts and she pulled out my post on the 3-Year Journal for Kids! She had really positive feedback and said the only thing she wished was different was the amount of white space at the top of the page. I played around and fixed that so the posts start closer to the top of the page now :) This was so encouraging and I look forward to learning more and putting it all into practice to better serve you - my readers!
