Coloring Easter eggs, wrestling match, and books - five places I found joy in the chaos this week
Every week I like to take a moment to showcase the moments that brought me the most joy. Sometimes they are awesome activities and other times it's a sweet moment between the kids. There are always moments that can fill us with joy if we choose to see them with a thankful heart.
Happy Easter, everyone! Are you getting a chance to celebrate our risen King? What an incredible gift we have in Him.
It was a fairly calm week around these parts. We still had things on the schedule but it wasn't until later in the week so the beginning was fairly calm... or as calm as it can be with seven of us!
1. Coloring Easter Eggs
Apparently 24 eggs wasn't quite enough for the five kids. We decided next year we need to make sure we cook a number divisible by 5 so everyone gets the same number and the activity lasts a little longer than ten minutes... cause kids. But they had fun and we've been enjoying all the eggs as snacks and additions to meals this week.
2. Little R2-D2
Anders insisted on wearing this sweatshirt (which is technically too small for him) and loved pretending to be the droid. He beeped around and kept the hood up for most of the trip to school and back. Sometimes I forget that these little guys are figuring out so much and have great big personalities in their little bodies.
3. Sibling Wrestling Match
Usually we don't let the kids wrestle together without Micah because they tend to get carried away rather quickly. But I let them try the other night and they actually handled it really well and made sure everyone was okay. There are moments of them getting along even if they don't happen all the time - hallelujah!
Jamison is so like his momma. He started a new books series, The Notebook of Doom, and hasn't been able to put it down. He's gone through book one and two this week and has been not so patiently for book three from the library. I'm the same way when I get hooked on books so I love seeing him absolutely absorbed in a story.
5. Library Time
We had several books and movies on hold so we made a family trip to the library on Saturday morning. Mercedes found a book about Wonder Woman for Micah to read and I loved seeing them cuddled up together on the couch.
