Do you stray when times get hard or do you persevere and remain loyal to those around you?
We are not promised an easy life. Jesus told us that in this world we will have trouble - there is no getting around it! They key is to stay faithful to Him and not stray in order to have life, and have it abundant.
What about when people disappoint you? Do you immediately write them off or do you give them another chance? Do you let them explain themselves or assume the worst?
When you and your spouse get into an argument over the same thing once again do you figure this is the way it will always be and throw in the towel or do you communicate and find a way to overcome the trouble together?
To me, being loyal is a given. I want those around me to know I have their back and that I want what's best for them. I speak highly of my husband to friends because I want him to do the same of me. I try not to think for others. If I have an issue with the way another did something I need to ask them about it an not assume they did it in order to cause me trouble.
Just because the road gets a little dark, gets a little hard to navigate, or the terrain changes doesn't mean I need to turn back the way I came or leave entirely. I need to remain on the path God has set before me and see it through. Light will come again as I stay loyal to Him that called me.
I'm linking this up over at Kate Motaung's for Five Minute Friday. Every week a one-word writing prompt is given and writers have five minutes to share.
This is meant to be a free write, which means: no editing, no over-thinking, no worrying about perfect grammar or punctuation.
